A rare and untreated natural Ceylon Sapphire. The color of this sapphire was designated by GIA Laboratory to be "Violetish Blue." Those familiar with the difference found in hues of blue sapphire, recognize violetish blue as a rare and desirable color. The gem was fashioned into a modified heart shape by the lapidary. This sapphire is untreated. Note: The majority of sapphire and ruby (Corundum) are treated with heat.
